Hey Everyone,
Vickie let me know last night (July 24, 2008) that I missed one week from the Life of Elder Russell. So I apologize that this letter is out of order from all the rest. But enjoy anyway! (or don't)!
So, this past week we experienced something that most missionaries won’t. it was Thursday evening. Me and elder kicker were out and about. Our phone rings and it is Stephanie Wood.
A little background on her: she is a lady that has investigated the church for over a year. About 4 months ago, she wanted to get baptized, but decided not to and since then asked that the missionaries NOT come visit her unless invited. I have met here a few time, like 4 or five. Since I hve been here in destin, we have not TAUGHT anything to her, but we have met with her as friends.
Anyways, on Thursday night she called us….and she told us that on Saturday, she will be getting baptized and we can['t] argue with her. We told her we would have to make some calls, so we did…..needless to say, this past Saturday, she was baptized in the gulf, with me and elder kicker witnessing. That means, we got to go IN the water, about 100 yds out and a little more that waist deep. How insane is that? Crazy week.
Tom is doing great. He is all set to be baptized on june 28. we also met with laura this last week, she has acid reflux, and it was bad on Sunday, so she didn’t make it to church, however, in our meeting with her this week, we brought our branch president. We talked about baptism. She is going out of town on july 2, and she is going to pray to know if she should get baptized before or after her week long vacation. It was an amazing week.
Me and elder kicker really feel good about this last transfer of his. We are doing great. Oh yeah, and aaron sundsrtom, the muscle guy we have been pulling trucks with…..he has came to church two weeks in a row! I love you and this work. peace
